To the Wild Ends: Journey and History

  • Golden Hare Books 68 St Stephen Street Edinburgh United Kingdom (map)

with authors David Gange and Dan Richards

Two authors discuss their very different journeys in search of history and discovery. Historian David Gange (The Frayed Atlantic Edge) kayaked from Shetland to the Channel, exploring every cove, island and inlet along the UK coasts to write a history of Atlantic Britain and Ireland like no other. Dan Richards (Outpost) went across the world over multiple trips in search of far-flung outposts throughout vast landscapes. From tundras and mountains to oceans and forests, Dan follows his father’s footsteps to find the man-made shelters at the edges of the world.

Chaired by bookshop manager Julie Danskin.
