The Heart of a Stranger: An Anthology of Exile Literature

  • LIGHTHOUSE - Edinburgh's Radical Bookshop 43-45 West Nicolson Street Edinburgh, Scotland, EH8 9DB United Kingdom (map)

with editor André Naffis-Sahely

Exile has long been a part of our histories, affecting some of our best-loved and most well-known writers, both back in the seemingly-ancient past and here in our own time.

Heart of a Stranger chronicles the condition of exile from ancient Egypt to the present day through fiction, nonfiction and poetry. A vast and comprehensive collection, it features writers such as the likes of Mahmoud Darwish, Olaudah Equiano, Mimi Khalvati and Emma Goldman.

We’re thrilled to host editor André Naffis-Sahely to discuss the many contributions.
