Cartooning the Classics with Tom Gauld

  • Golden Hare Books 68 Saint Stephen Street Edinburgh, Scotland, EH3 5AQ United Kingdom (map)

What was the secret of Kafka’s lemon drizzle cake?
And what plot possibilities does the exploding e-cigarette offer modern mystery writers?

Simultaneously silly and serious, Tom Gauld adds a lightness to traditionally highbrow themes in Baking With Kafka. Timely, distinctive and droll, it’s not hard to see why he is one of the most celebrated cartoonists working today. Come and watch Tom draw and chat about his life in comics - an event to make you laugh and make you think.

"Tom Gauld might just be the Edward Gorey of our time, channelling his wry humour and macabre aesthetic through exquisite black-and-white illustrations."
